  1. Hey Vayner Nation,

I feel comfortable enough to ask this question as i know the community is super helpful 🙂

I'm 26 years old and live in London, UK, my dream is to start a UK festival around my passion hip hop music as well as other genres.

The problem ( OR ) opportunity depending how i look at it on the day is i only have a few grand saved up which isn't enough to get me started up. However that's no excuse as the Internet/Technology today has changed everything.

So i wanted to ask the community what do you think the best way for me to get started is? I'm thinking about starting a blog to build a large targeted audience, provide them value, become a minor authority, monetize the blog and eventually build enough revenue this way and start the production/concerts /festivals company.

Anyway other ways you think i could go about this to get the company started? or tips? or ideas for festivals/concerts and events blog topics?

All ideas and comments welcome. Thanks so much

  2. is anyone else noticing all the repeats as new publishings? ONLY CUZ i want new material every day. i absorb it so quickly, i want new…instead of cuts and copies and re release…? even another of him digging for his phone in the backseat! new…personal. yea…

  3. Thank you Gary. I am gonna be Vlogging a lot more and am going to be doing a Pod cast about my busines The Illumibuddy Company. I Can't wait to talk business one day soon with you!

  4. I started editing my first Vlog even though it's like other vids on my channel in which I put something in front of the camera and start talking but this is the first time I'm really calling it a blog because I want to organize my videos by creating a series instead of random vids here and there.

  5. Posting on social media has definitely been a challenge for me because I'm not addicted to my phone. I don't like to document my life on my personal social media. I enjoy being "in the moment." But its something I must overcome to be able to promote my Youtube channel and grow my influence.

  6. This was good. I do appreciate your drive and constant encouragement to get other creatives (like me) to do, to try, to go. Sometimes I think it's a bit overwhelming and can be a trap if anyone tries to keep up with you or even "do Gary". That being said, I think this was a great concise message, very meta, about documenting. Heck the fact a worker was trying to set-up a display while you shot this proves it. This is one of your better ideas proven out in the quick interview. Thanks

  7. Remember that time you talked to a guy whose accent was so heavy you actually had to let him complete a sentence? HE WAS FINNISH SO YOU HAD TO LET HIM FINISH! Seriously, though, big love and keep rockin'.

  8. I think the documenting vs creating shit is hard for people that have fantastic ideas, because they want to see them come to life but when its not practical/possible to execute the ideas u have you gotta just do whatever it takes to be able to have the leverage to create what you want to create. Thats what I'm doing right now… trying to build something… and I know my shit isn't going to appeal to everyone, I think you gotta be real and controversial for people to remember you… As creators I think we all gotta remember we have 1-2 shots with every person so I personally think its about the balance between getting ur at bats but also having quality at bats.

  9. damn, personal brand is gonna be EVERYTHING in a few years! i'm so happy i got into making youtube content in 2015 already! will be so beneficial down the line!
